I wish I had thought up the idea to blog about Mother Daughter Flight Attendants more than just 5 minutes ago, but such is life. I want to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Moms in the world.
Moms, thank you for being incredible women. I’m not a Mom, so I don’t know what the job entails, but I’ve had the thought quite often, that I hope that I never have a daughter like me cause that just sounds exhausting. Thanks for putting up with those of us that can’t sit still and make you worry.
My mother is one fun lady. The older that I get, the more that I see the similarities in our personalities. I inherited her adventurousness, klutziness, and laughability. One of the reasons that I love spending time with my mom is because, when I’m with her, she laughs all the time.

My mom was a dietitian, but a year into my flying career, I said, “Hey Mama! You should apply to be a flight attendant! It’s really fun!” So, in her typical fashion, she replied with a, “Why not?!” Even though my mom works for different airline than I do, it’s great to know that she just gets what it’s like to work in the industry. It’s also nice that her and I are able to meet in cities around the country, flying places for free. It’s also why my dad was able to go to Vietnam with me. There are so many perks to Mother/Daughter Flight Attendant-ing.

Many airlines have moms and daughters, or sons, working together. I know of a few, and I think it’s so cute. My friend Kayla grew up with Mom as a flight attendant, working for a mainline carrier. Kayla was able to travel with her Mom to far away places, bonding the two of them, and instilling in Kayla a desire to see the world and follow in her Mother’s career path. Now, both women are employed by the same airline. How cool is that?

I wish I had time to include more mother/daughter flight attendant stories, but my time is limited, as I have to go to work soon. But, thanks Mom for being a woman I respect and admire. Someone I trust and can tell my secrets to. A friend that I can laugh and cry with. Love you:)
(If any mother/daughter flight attendants read this post, and want to include a story in the comments, I would love that!)
